There’s nothing more exciting – or perhaps, more daunting – than buying your first home. Like anything you’ve never done before, you’re going into it a little blind. So, Leeds Building Society asked Cherry Tiger to help their first time buyers go into their first home purchase with their eyes a little wider open.
A more informed customer is a more committed customer, so the brief made commercial sense, and it also helped reassure regulators that the Society were doing all it could to be a responsible lender. But, equally as important, our work had to be informative, useful and relevant to Leeds Building Society’s members – and help them make informed decisions.
We took a pragmatic, helpful, straightforward tone that, in keeping with the new brand, recognised that the most important thing to the buyer is their potential new home, not the technicalities of mortgage jargon. So, from finding a home to borrowing money; working out the hidden costs of buying to legal matters and insurance, Cherry Tiger created a 5-step online guide that spelled out everything a first time buyer would need to know.
